Priorities
-
Enhancing Public Safety: We will achieve this by constructing a modern facility to ensure safety and rehabilitation, and by strengthening our law enforcement to safeguard our neighborhoods.
-
Election Integrity: Focus should be on trust in election results. Voter confidence demands checks and balances, transparency, and common-sense reform.
-
Mental Health: Tailoring mental health services to meet the unique needs of our residents ensuring support is available to all who need it.
-
Parks, Trails, and Recreation: Expanding trails and recreational facilities to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Guiding Principals
-
Transparency: I don’t hide my mistakes but rather I own them and try to learn from them.
-
Integrity: I prioritize truthfulness, acting in the best interests of Anoka County residents, and delivering on commitments to the best of my ability.
-
As your county commissioner, I thoroughly research issues, engage with all stakeholders, and openly communicate my decisions. I ask tough questions to ensure we reach the best solutions, bringing an independent perspective that challenges norms.
-
Referendums: I advocate for residents to have the opportunity to vote through a referendum whenever significant capital improvements are proposed. This ensures transparency and prevents undue influence from special interest groups that could otherwise sway decision-makers.
Public Safety
-
All residents should be safe in their communities, with safe roads and bridges.
-
Public safety hinges on timely police and fire services with prompt response times. Meeting expectations and securing adequate funding for essential services is crucial for the well-being and prosperity of our communities.
-
Our current jail is crumbling with limited capacity, forcing Anoka County to rely on neighboring resources. Negotiations with the City of Anoka have stalled for seven years. Delaying construction has only increased costs, the new jail is urgently needed.
